The US Youth Soccer Region III Premier League provides an opportunity for the most competitive teams in Region III (South) to play each other on a scheduled basis. The league will be comprised of boys and girls in the age groups of Under-14 through Under-18.
Each State Association decides what will be the criteria for selecting teams to be considered for inclusion in the upcoming Premier League season. Typically the prior year’s Premier League champion in an age group, the state cup finalist(s) or the champion of an in-state league are potential candidates. Each State Association is invited to present at least two (2) teams in each age group/gender. Games are scheduled in the fall or the spring, depending on local customs in a sub-region or state.
The US Youth Soccer Region III Premier League committee is comprised of a volunteer from eachmember State Associations plus the sub-region coordinators and a league chairman. There are no paid positions. To a person, the sole intent is to furnish the top teams in the region the opportunity to play the most competitive schedule for as little cost as possible. The financial goal is to break even. We fully understand the cost to play this game and believe that the more money that stays at the local club or association the better opportunities each child will have to develop their playing abilities with club coaches at club facilities.
Every State President in Region III is fully committed to make this league a success.
Beginning in the fall 2012 season we will have a Region III Regional League in the U15, U16, U17 and U18 age groups. Each age group is targeted to consist of an eight team bracket. The Regional Premier League consists of three teams from the East and West and two teams from the Central. Teams will qualify into the Regional Premier League through prior year play. There will be promotion and relegation between the Regional Premier League and the three sub-regional Premier Leagues.
