US Youth Soccer ODP a Common Thread Among Players Selected for U-15 GNT Training Camp Roster

20 of 24 players selected for U-15 GNT Camp participate in US Youth Soccer ODP

The US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (US Youth Soccer ODP) continues to be a common thread for players called into national team camps. Of the 24 players named to a recent U.S. Under-15 Girls’ National Team training camp roster, 20 are members of US Youth Soccer ODP.

The training camp commenced the 2013 season for the U.S. U-15 Girls’ National Team and took place Feb. 24-March 2 at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. The event was the first of at least four training camps that will take place this year for this age group.

The U.S. U-15 GNT was led by head coach Damon Nahas, and joined by U.S. Soccer Development Director Jill Ellis. Since all players in the camp are age-eligible for the 2014 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, the top performers may have the chance to break into that squad.

The US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program brings together the top players from various clubs and geographic locations, and puts them in an environment to train and compete at the highest level in front of collegiate, professional and national team scouts. US Youth Soccer ODP is the original Olympic development program and with programs in all 55 US Youth Soccer State Associations, is available to any player regardless of club or hometown.  US Youth Soccer ODP is the only elite player development program that can claim members of Major League Soccer and the National Women’s Soccer League, as well as the majority of current and past national and youth national team members, as alumni.
